It’s Happening!
Thank you Peter and Kathy Creamer of Little Pink Dog Books NSW, AU for giving me the opportunity to illustrate Ella and Star coming to stores near you JUNE 2023! I could not be more thrilled or excited by this opportunity! This will be my debut picture book with friend and story crafter Michelle Wanasundera. Together we will make Ella and Star a story that stays in your heart for a very long time.
Bologna Children’s Book Fair Presents 24H Marathon!
They said be prepared to run and so I did! With help from my friends I threw together my online portfolio and hit submit. I was so excited to see that I made it in! So the first part of May 2020 I get to meet with an extraordinary person in the world of publishing—Huang Xiaoyan with Everafter Books! I consider it to be a HUGE opportunity to be among the 240 people from around the globe chosen to present their work! I cannot wait to see what I can glean from this time and how I can make myself stronger in my illustrations. To be continued…
Special Guest with Nina Rycroft & Project Portfolio!
I was thrilled to be a special guest among many with Project Portfolio—created by my friend and mentor Nina Rycroft! Project Portfolio takes the sage advice and inspiration from so many experts across the industry as well as newly emerging authors and illustrators. This combined experience helps to solidify what is needed and relevant to create the perfect ‘client ready’ portfolio. The information gleaned from this was invaluable and really there is nothing like it anywhere. So many perspectives from across the world really does give a perfect picture of what it takes to make a stellar portfolio that will stand out in the world of publishing.

Picture Book ECourse
Nina Rycroft’s Picture Book Illustration e-course is designed to help illustrators develop a full picture book storyboard based on Ben Whittacker-Cook’s Florence Fox Goes to School story. Illustrators will learn all the ins-and-outs of this process and prepare them for the publication world. It was a fantastic experience! A wonderful community that supported and encouraged one another through the entire process and Nina’s personal mentoring and invaluable advice coming from her own experience in the publication world made for success! Nina Rycroft has had over a dozen picture books published and has helped others get published from taking this course.
